MICHAEL SOUTER, CREATIVE CONSULTANT / ARTIST

Michael Souter is a creative consultant and artist working across branding, design, and fine art. For over four decades, he has partnered with brands and institutions in the luxury, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and cultural sectors while maintaining an active art practice.

Design and art have always evolved in parallel. His consulting work is informed by an artist’s sensitivity to form, narrative, and emotional resonance. His artwork reflects cultural observation and intuition.

Living and working in San Francisco, Tokyo, and New York shaped both practices, introducing scale, minimal form, layering, contrast, language, and rhythm. He studied art and design at Western Michigan University and later taught at École Internationale in Geneva and California College of the Arts.

His work explores contrast, scale, and emotional shifts. A past series, Narcissist Nation, created for The Bronx Museum, examined desire, destruction, and recovery. He is currently developing experimental mixed media works.
